Experiences — Make the Most of Broken Hill
From world-class art galleries to ancient desert landscapes and starry outback skies, explore everything Broken Hill has to offer from your base at Imperial Fine Accommodation.
Your Gateway to Far West NSW
Broken Hill's National Heritage listing, granted in January 2015, recognised the city's unique combination of mining history, planned urban design, and cultural output — a rare distinction shared with only a handful of Australian places. Guests based at Imperial Fine Accommodation are positioned centrally to explore all of it, from the galleries detailed in our Art Galleries & Culture guide to the ghost town profiled in our Silverton guide.
Nature, Sculpture, and Sky
The Living Desert Sculptures were carved in 1993 during a six-week international symposium led by sculptor Lawrence Beck, bringing artists from Mexico, Georgia, Syria, and Bathurst Island together to create twelve monumental sandstone works — still one of the most visited sites in Far West NSW. Pair a sculpture-site sunset with the region's exceptional dark skies, detailed in our Stargazing & Photography guide.
Heritage, Aviation, and Local Flavour
The Royal Flying Doctor Service established its Broken Hill base in 1936 or 1937, making it one of the organisation's oldest. Today, the site's Outback Heritage Centre is a must-see stop, detailed in our RFDS & Line of Lode guide. Round out a visit with a meal recommended in our Dining & Food Guide before returning to unwind at Imperial's courtyard pool.
